Chris Burros started his poetry journey by participating in a graduate study led by Gemma Blackburn, the former host of Show-Me Poetry. Since then he has joined the Show-Me Poetry leadership team, performs at open mics and has been a member of The Bards of Moon City since 2023. His poems have been published in Rethinking Behavior, Yellow Bike Magazine, and the Bards of Moon City anthologies. Chris also enjoys photography.
Hayley Charles has been writing poetry for nearly two decades. She loves being part of the Show Me Poetry Slam because it gives her the chance to witness people sharing their stories through spoken word. And because she enjoys riffing on what others say with a mic in her hand. When she’s not on stage, you can find her hanging out with her dog or doing just about anything outdoors.
Sadie Carter is your Ma, the Crone, and a writer of gently dystopian love poetry. When you’re on the stage, she’s your #1 fan and woo girl. As host, she wants to know if you think Charles Bukowski could take Emily Dickinson in a fight. Outside of the slam, she lives an appallingly normal life with a child, two cats, and a really concerning number of snakes.
Erin Shelton has been an avid poetry slam attendee since June 2022, but has been writing poetry since the age of 16. Erin can be seen at many poetry events including ShowMe Poetry Slam (leadership member), Oh Snap! Poetry, Poets Corner, and many more. Her works have been published in Yellow Bike Magazine, and performed live at the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. In her free time, Erin loves theater, at-home nail designs, and riding bikes with her partner.
